Speaking engagements
Scope covers preparation, delivery and structured follow-up for keynote addresses, conference sessions, panel participation, facilitation and institutional workshops.
- Pre-engagement briefing call and content scoping
- Research and preparation specific to audience and sector
- Delivery on agreed date and format (online or in-person)
- Post-session summary or key-takeaways note (where agreed)
Speaker travel and accommodation for in-person engagements are charged separately where applicable. See Payment Terms.
Strategic advisory & consulting
Scope covers system-level advisory on ecosystem design, partnership strategy, programme architecture and institutional capability building.
- Diagnostic review of current systems, partnerships or programmes
- Advisory sessions, workshops and structured design sprints
- Recommendations, frameworks and actionable programme guidance
- Ongoing retainer access where contracted
Implementation, operational delivery and supplier procurement remain the client's responsibility unless separately contracted.
Retainers
Structured ongoing advisory access for institutions requiring sustained strategic input, programme oversight or periodic senior-level counsel without the commitment of a full-time appointment.
- Monthly or quarterly advisory sessions with fixed availability
- Priority access for urgent strategic questions or emerging decisions
- Programme or partnership review and refinement over time
- Integration with internal teams and governance cycles
Retainer scope, hours and deliverables are defined in the engagement agreement. Excess use beyond agreed limits may be charged at standard consulting rates or require a scope revision.
Not included
- Media or PR appearances outside agreed speaking scope
- Fundraising, grant-writing or investment-readiness support
- Ongoing operational or project management post-delivery
- Technology platform development, software procurement or data engineering
What you will receive.
Speaking outputs
- Pre-agreed session title, summary and learning objectives
- Delivery slides or framework materials (where provided)
- Post-session written summary or key-takeaways within 5 business days (if contracted)
Advisory outputs
- Advisory notes or session documentation following each workshop
- Strategic framework documents (e.g., ecosystem map, partnership model, programme architecture)
- Presentation of findings to senior stakeholders where agreed
- Progress checkpoints and written status updates for retainer engagements
Format and ownership
- All outputs are delivered in digital format (PDF, slides, or shared documentation)
- Intellectual property in bespoke frameworks resides with the client upon final payment
- Reusable methodology and proprietary tools remain the property of Becky Lodge
- Materials may not be redistributed, sublicensed or commercially reproduced without written permission
Lead times and delivery schedules.
Booking and confirmation
- Initial enquiry: acknowledged within 2 business days
- Scoping call: typically held within 5–7 business days of enquiry
- Proposal and terms: issued within 5 business days following scoping
- Confirmation: engagement is confirmed only upon signed agreement and cleared deposit
Speaking engagement lead times
- Standard bookings: minimum 4–6 weeks before event date
- In-person engagements: minimum 6–8 weeks recommended for logistics and preparation
- Peak periods (IWD, GEW, conference seasons): minimum 8–12 weeks, subject to availability
- Urgent or short-notice requests will be considered but cannot be guaranteed
Advisory and consulting timelines
- Half-day advisory session: typically 2–3 weeks from confirmation
- Full-day strategic design workshop: typically 3–4 weeks from confirmation
- Project-based ecosystem design: timeline scoped individually, typically 6–12 weeks
- Retainer engagements: commence within 2 weeks of signed agreement and first payment
Delivery and turnaround
- Post-session summaries: within 5 business days of engagement
- Advisory documentation: within 10 business days of workshop or milestone
- Project deliverables: per agreed timeline in the engagement schedule
- Retainer updates: monthly or bi-weekly as contractually agreed
Communication, decision-making and escalation.
Single point of contact
Each engagement is managed through a single primary contact on the client side. This ensures clear accountability, faster decisions and consistent communication throughout the engagement lifecycle.
- Client-side engagement lead: responsible for briefing, scheduling and internal coordination
- Becky Lodge: direct point of contact for all strategic, delivery and contractual matters
- No intermediary account management layer
Communication protocols
- Primary channel: email, with response within 2 business days
- Briefing and scoping calls: scheduled in advance; agendas circulated 24 hours ahead
- Urgent matters: flagged by email with 'Urgent' in subject line; same-day response where possible
- No reliance on messaging apps, social media or informal channels for contractual or scope matters
Decision-making
- Scope changes must be requested in writing and confirmed in writing before taking effect
- Verbal requests or informal amendments are not binding
- Becky Lodge reserves the right to decline scope extensions that conflict with existing commitments
- Major programme or strategic pivots may trigger a re-scoping conversation and revised terms
Cancellation, rescheduling and escalation
- Cancellations within 14 days may be subject to partial or full fee retention
- Rescheduling is subject to availability; more than one reschedule may require a revised agreement
- Force majeure: both parties agree to good-faith rescheduling where events outside reasonable control prevent delivery
- Escalation: any dispute or concern should be raised directly and in writing; resolution will be pursued in good faith within 10 business days
Confidentiality and conduct
- All client information, data and strategic discussions are treated as strictly confidential
- Becky Lodge operates under standard professional confidentiality expectations; bespoke NDAs can be signed where institutional policy requires
- Engagements may be referenced at a high level in public communications (e.g., 'Advisory work with a Russell Group university') only with prior written consent
Photography and promotional use.
Media capture at events
From time to time, photographs or media may be taken during events, workshops, or speaking engagements delivered as part of the services.
- These images may be used for professional and promotional purposes
- Including website content, social media channels and marketing materials
- Including press and promotional communications
Consent and withdrawal
- Individuals will be informed at the start of any engagement where photography or media capture is planned
- Individuals will have the opportunity to raise objections or withdraw consent prior to participation
- Where consent is withdrawn, reasonable steps will be taken to ensure identifiable individuals are not included in published materials

For confirmed bookings, a formal proposal, terms of engagement and invoice schedule will be issued following the scoping call.
